Congratulations to the MAC athletes who were awarded an OVA Award of Excellence at their respective Provincial Championships!
In existence for many years, the Award of Excellence is awarded annually to one team member of a 14U to 16U team at the Provincial Championships for on and off court leadership, playing performance and sportsmanship. 
This season's MAC athletes include:
14U Boys - Michael Felinczak
14U Girls - Briana Layard
15U Boys - Brendan Kewin
15U Girls - Caitlyn Genovy
16U Boys - Luc Dupuis
16U Girls  - Jenn Vegh

15U Boys Provincials PDF Print E-mail

Mountain Athletic Club (MAC) Volleyball 15U boys finished 5th overall in Tier 1of the 15U Provincial Championships in Waterloo.
In round robin play, MAC defeated KIngston Segada 25-17, 25-17, lost to the King City Wolfpack 25-18, 25-18 , defeated the Mississauga Pakmen 25-12, 25-20. In the power pools, MAC went onto to defeat the Niagara Rapids 25- 13, 25-21 , the Ottawa Fusion Purple 19-25, 25-18, 15-7 and lost to the Markham Stingers 22-25, 26-24, 14- 16. In the playoffs, MAC defeated the Durham Attack 25-20, 26-24 to advance to the quarter finals. 
In the quarter finals, MAC was defeated by the Cobourg Breakers 25-19, 20-25, 15-12 to finish 5th overall.

Seeded fourth heading into the 18U Provincial Championships in Waterloo on the weekend, the Mountain Athletic Club (MAC) Volleyball 18U boys team finished strong to win the Tier 1 Bronze medal.
In the round robin, MAC defeated Windsor Riverside Rage 25-20, 25-23, Kingston Pegasus 25-16, 25-23, Sudbury Staxx 25-14, 25-15 and the London Forest City Green 28-30, 25-23, 15-9. Crush defeated MAC 26-28, 25-19, 15-11 but MAC came back dominating Toronto West 30-28, 25-18 to win the quarter finals. In the semi-finals, MAC lost to the Ottawa Mavericks 25-15, 25-13 but pushed through the Bronze medal match winning over London Forest  City Green 20-25, 25-19, 15-13

Ranked eighth heading into the 17U Provincial Championships in Waterloo on the weekend, the Mountain Athletic Club (MAC) Volleyball 17U Boys made an impressive sweep of games to finish with the Tier 1 Championship Silver medal. 
After the round robin, MAC  defeated the Etobicoke Widcats 25-13, 25-23, the Waterloo Tigers Red 25-21, 25-21and lost to the Waterloo Tigers Black 25-23,25-18. In the re-seeded power pools, MAC lost to Crush 25-23, 28-26,defeated the Ottawa Mavericks 28-26 , 20-24, 15-10 and lost to Ottawa Fusion 26-24, 25-28, 17-15 and the Cobourg Breakers 25-13, 16-25, 15-11. In the play off pre-quarters, MAC moved ahead by defeating Storm 23-25, 25-18, 15-9.  In the quarter finals, MAC settled it with Crush by defeating them in a convincing 25-20, 25-21 match as well as the Durham Attack 21-25, 25-22, 15-12 in the semi finals.
MAC pushed it to the limit but lost a close match to the Waterloo Tigers Black  25-23, 23-25,11-15 to take home the Silver medal in Tier 1.

Seeded 27th going into  the  15U Provincial  Championships in Waterloo, MAC finished winning  the Bronze Medal in Tier 1 Division 2.  MAC defeated the Waterloo Tigers Black  24-26, 25-21, 15-10 to win the Bronze Medal.
